BLIZZARD BLAST!

Up to 16" in snow now and it just keeps falling!  The Aussies of course are loving the snow....well, all except Shocka who grew up in sunny California.  Check out some of our favorite photos from our last trek outside....

GOODBYE CREAM BEANS!

It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to “Cream”...Ch. Bayshore's Cream of Wheat (Flapjack daughter) who lived to an amazing 16 1/2 years old.  Cream was a special gift from Frank & Chris of Bayshore and we will always be grateful for the opportunity to have her in our lives. She was a wonderful spirit and always a graceful, strong and kind dog.

She left us as she lived her life...with dignity, sweet love and an unmatched inner strength that never seemed to diminish. Because her body failed before her mind, the past several months have been difficult on her and us. Thank you to the staff at Blue Ridge Vets for their never ending support....Dr. Campbell & Dr. Hall for their guidance and knowledge, Christy for her at the ready hospice care and on her last day with us, Monica & Dr. Karen Iovino for the compassionate words and caring touch they showed Cream.
We know we are not supposed to have "favorite kids", but there are those dogs that come along and have a way of quietly rising to the top of a full heart. That is where she will stay until we meet again!

SALSA PUPPIES ARE HERE!

Salsa delivered a lovely litter of 7 fat and happy puppies on Novemberr 18, 2009!  Two blue merle boys, two red merle boys, one red tri boy and two blue merle girls!  Individual photos coming soon!

WHAT A SHOW WEEKEND!

At the West Friendship shows this weekend, "Rapper" took 3 back-to-back Major wins to become NEW CHAMPION Bayshore Stonehaven Rapture!  And to top it off, she took a Herding Group Two from the classes over top Herding dogs.  This just on the heels of her Group One win from the classes a few weeks ago (pictured)!  We just love this girl!

We heard from owner Sunny Jordan that on her second weekend out, little "Fiesta"...Stonehaven It's A Party at Bayshore was Winners Bitch for a 3 point Major from the 6-9 class!  Way to go ladies!

LOTS & LOTS OF UPDATES!

Be sure to watch the National Dog Show televised on Thanksgiving Day on NBC right after the Macy's Day Parade!  You may see a familiar face in the Herding Group!  I am thrilled to say that "Shocka"...Ch. Heatherhill Shock 'N Awe was Best of Breed both days at the Philadelphia Kennel Club over a large entry and then made the cut in the Herding Group!  On Sunday, "Rapper"...Bayshore Stonehaven Rapture was Winners Bitch for another 2 points!

Got HUGE news from our friend Kelly Comrie in Canada who is serving as Liam's (BISS Ch. Avatar's Crusader at Bayshore) adoptive Mother! 
Liam is officially the #1 Border Collie in Canada both Breed and All-Breed Systems.
In addition, Liam has made his mark as being the FIRST Chocolate Border Collie to be ranked #1, the FIRST Group Placing Chocolate Border Collie and is now the All-Time Top Winning Border Collie in CKC!!!
Our eternal gratitude to Kelly for all her hard work and love of Liam!

Heard from owner Sunny Jordan that at her very first show at only 6 months of age "Fiesta"...Stonehaven Bayshore It's A Party (Player X Salsa) was Winners Bitch for 2 points and then took Reserve Winners Bitch to the Major the next day out in Ohio!  Way to go ladies!

Received an e-mail from owner Les Mathieson in Australia about "Clash"...Aust BIS Ch. Stonehaven's London Calling that last Saturday Clash added another BIG (Group 1st) to his tally against a large entry of dogs!  Way to go!

Got the following e-mail from owner Jo Zukas...."just had to let you know that your boy Ziggy (Bayshore Ziggy Stardust of Stonehaven) earned 2 Qs in ASCA Jumpers Novice yesterday, our first trial. He also earned a Q in Regular Novice. He now has his first title – in ASCA Jumpers Novice!!! I couldn’t be more proud of Zig, thanks so much for letting me have my ‘little’ darling J He is such a sweetheart – not to mention a beauty to watch run!"

Heard from owner Erin Culhane that "Gamble"...Bayshore Stonehaven King of Hearts obtained his PT Herding Title this weekend.  She also sent a video clip....he looked awesome!

SNEAK IS HOME!

"Sneak"...Bayshore Stonehaven Don't Get Caught, has been growing up with friend David Cline.  We are thrilled to have him back as he has matured into a very handsome young man as you can see from the photos we took yesterday.  He is a littermate to our "Rapper" and "Panda!"

Heard from owner David Cline that at her first show this weekend "Apple"... Bayshore Stonehaven Simply Delicious, was Winners Bitch / Best of Winners for 2 pts. in Greensboro, NC!  Way to go!
And from up north, heard from owner Jill Karras that "Spring"...Rondolay Willow Winds at Bayshore was Winners Bitch today in Mass!

SHOCKA'S GROUP 3 PHOTO!

Received Shocka's Herding Group 3 win photo from last weekend!  Would like it better if his tongue wasn't hanging out!  Grin....

LIAM IN CANADA!

So this update is way overdue but I just got Liam's new Canadian Championship Certificate in the mail yesterday and it was a good reminder!  Liam (AKC/CKC Ch. Avatar's Crusader at Bayshore) has been doing very well in Canada with multiple Group placements and is currently the # 1 Border Collie in Breed points!  We cannot thank our friend Kelly Comrie enough for her love and care of Liam!  He's obviously VERY happy as you can tell by the smile on his face!

"HEMI" SUPERSTAR!

Heard from owner Julie Rigby that "Hemi"...Bayshore Stonehaven Turbo Charged (Hazel X Diesel litter) went to his first Agility Trial and Qualified in 3 out of 4 runs with 2 first place wins and a second place win!

He also has earned his Canine Good Citizen (CGC) title and his Rally Level One title as well!

"SABLE" UPDATE!

Just received some great photos from owner Maya Barsky of her little girl "Sable" who is from our Salsa X Player litter!  Maya writes "writing to give you a quick update on Sable's progress. She is so fantastic! Attached are a few photos we took the other day at the dog park. As you can see, she has a new best buddy, 5 month-old Aussie, Monty.  She can now to the following:  Sit, Stay, Down, Roll-over, Pound it (where she hits your fist with her paw), High five, Speak, Dance (where she gets up on her hind legs and dances, Low crawl (where she gets on her belly and shuffles on the floor), and she's learning "Embarrassed" (where she hides her face with her paws). She's so smart and willing to learn, it's incredible."

At the Middleburg Kennel Club shows this weekend in Leesburg, VA, "Prowler"...Bayshore Stonehaven Cat Burglar finished his Championship to become our 6th Champion this year!
AND...in his first weekend out as a Special, "Shocka"...Ch. Heatherhill Shock 'N Awe was Best of Breed both days with a Herding Group 3 win today!
AND...on Saturday, "Rapper"...Bayshore Stonehaven Rapture was Winners Bitch / Best of Opposite Sex for another 2 points!
AND...today, "Gamble"....Bayshore Stonehaven King of Hearts was Winners Dog and Best of Winners.  Congrats to owner Erin Culhane!
So a very good weekend indeed for the Stonehaven Family!

PHOTOGRAPHY

Am trying to find more time to get back into photography and am going to begin keeping my camera with me for moments like the one above.  I was in one of our fields trying to photograph our deer (who weren't cooperating) when the sun was setting after a cloudy, rainy day and I turned around to find this one lonely tree.  I just loved the start contrast between the bare branches and the sky.
Will have website up in next few days where I can easily download dog show shots, candids, and planned photo sessions for individuals to preview and purchase!

A HERDING GROUP WIN AND LOTS MORE!

Still spinning from the shows in West Friendship, MD this weekend!  "Prowler"...Bayshore Stonehaven Cat Burglar was Winners Dog and Best Opposite Sex of Specials all 3 days!  And then on Sunday, "Rapper"...Bayshore Stonehaven Rapture was Winners Bitch, Best of Winners and onto Best of Breed over Specials!  We were elated but could not imagine that she would then go on to WIN the Herding Group!!!
So a Herding Group 1 with a 5 point major for Rapper....

WEBSITE UPDATE!  We really wanted to change the look of our cover page on the website and not very far from the farm found amazing stone walls with stunning background scenary so I grabbed my camera and off I went!  A little wizardry in Photoshop to bring in Bravo and I think I've come up with something I really like....a new look for our opening page!  Let us know what you think!

Just got the win photos of the Brother/Sister Team from the NNJASC Supported Entry in Augusta, NJ! Despite the still wet conditions and the fact that the kids are out of coat, I'm pretty pleased with the shots overall!

NEW CHAMPION!

We were thrilled to hear from co-owner Anne Surguy that "Pia"...Bayshore's Cat In The Hat finished her Championship this weekend! Our congratulations and special thanks to Anne for all her work!

GOODBYE DEAR FRIEND...

It is with overwhelming sadness that we let everyone know of the passing of Stonehaven's most famous ambassador..."Isaac...the big yellow cat!"

Anyone who has been to our house over the past 11 years is familiar with the immediate greeting they recieved upon coming into the house. This may sound odd but he was so much more than "a cat" and everyone who visited us to meet our dogs (even "non-cat" people) ended up wanting to take Isaac home as a package deal!

Isaac was always the first to the whelping box when puppies were born so that he could "assist" and he was the last to leave when the kids went to thier new homes. He would let puppies torture him, loving every minute! Many years later as adults coming to visit, it was always amazing to see the look on their face when they saw Isaac. They immediately turned into puppies again and starting licking him all over and submitting to him.

If you didn't know where Isaac was, you only had to look for the bed with the most dogs on it and somewhere buried in between you would find him sound asleep. We always wondered if he knew he was a cat?

We take comfort in knowing his battle with brain cancer was brief and painless but his passing leaves an amazing void in our home and hearts. He was a friend that could never be replaced.

Until we meet again....we miss you buddy....

And "Whistle"...Bayshore Stonehaven Cat Call was BEST OF BREED from the classes at the Harrisburg Kennel Club show for a 4 pt. Major!

Just got some amazing updates from Andres in Mexico and we could not be more proud!

Multi Champion Bayshore Stonehaven Meet Joe Black, "Joey" just won another BEST IN SHOW, defeating 2008's top dog in Mexico!

Joey is currently the NUMBER 1 Herding Dog and is in the Top 10 All Breeds in Mexico. In addition, he made history becoming the first Young Mexican Champion (his title number is 00001).

Joey is from our Flutter X Cruiser litter!

Is this too cute for words or what? This is our friends Stacey and Megan's lovely little girl "Iris" with her very best friend "Promise" who we gave to them a few years ago. Gotta love the Aussies!
